The sirens blared and air raids came, but that didn't prevent the Jews of Ukraine from celebrating Purim in the same traditions as generations before them. The children dressed in costumes, enjoyed special treats, and sounded their graggers at the mention of evil Haman. The adults in the Jewish communities enjoyed themselves as well, with concerts, and special events to commemorate the triumph of Queen Esther and the Jewish people.
