A Busy Summer For Nathan

AUGUST 4TH 2023

Nathanel, 13, from Chernihiv, has had a busy summer! At the end of the school year, Nathan's mother promptly enrolled him in JRNU's summer camp to have fun, support his academic progress, and strengthen relationships with peers. When camp was over, Nathan celebrated his Bar Mitzvah, a critical time in a young man's life where he becomes a Jewish adult:

“As the mother of a 13-year-old son, Nathanel, I am so grateful for the opportunity to send my child to camp where he is cared for by excellent staff. It was especially joyful that Nathan and all the children were surrounded by Jewish traditions and culture; being amongst peers works wonders! Watching my child run to the Jewish Center each day, happy to be going to school, sharing new knowledge, experience and emotions - that is worth a lot! Thank you for giving maximum efforts and opportunities in such a difficult time, both on holidays and in free time from school. As a parent, it is important to reinforce my child's interest and enthusiasm for Jewish life, and at the same time ensure he does not fall out of the general picture of life!

It is very important for our family to part of the Jewish community and participate in all events! Many thanks to everyone involved--thank you for the opportunity to teach our children and keep them safe and happy; they are all that we have!"

We hope and pray that by next summer, Nathan and the people of Ukraine will enjoy peace in their land and their lives will have returned to normal. In the meantime we continue to do all we can to save lives and restore hope.

Together we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
