A Girl Named Zlata

OCTOBER 8TH 2024

Zlata, aged 12, lives in a small apartment with her parents; she has an older brother who is studying in Israel. Zlata’s father is the sole breadwinner in the household, as her mother works full-time helping Zlata with her medical and developmental needs.

Zlata has been ill since birth. At 2 months of age, she was diagnosed with a serious neurological condition as well as an autoimmune disease. Further complicating the situation, she has difficulty walking (due to a foot deformity) and a speech impediment.

Zlata’s parents spend much of their limited monthly budget on her medical treatment and rehabilitation, including physical therapy, speech therapy and psychological counseling. We help them with food and other needs, as costs continue to escalate.

The support we provide to Zlata and her family, and thousands of others across Ukraine, is critical to their ability to survive the ongoing crisis. We are grateful to all of our donors around the world who make our work possible. We hope that in the coming year conditions will improve and the acute need for humanitarian will abate, allowing us to focus additional resources on rebuilding lives and communities.

With your help, we continue to save lives and restore hope.

Together, we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
