Last night, blasts were heard across Kyiv as the city suffered the worst attack in months. Several buildings caught fire, and others were destroyed by missiles. Many vehicles were damaged as well, but thankfully no deaths were reported. At least one person was injured from the air attack, as people rushed for shelters, including inside metro stations.
The latest incident heightens concerns regarding potential damage to the power supply and other infrastructure, as the winter weather sets in. Over the past couple of years sustained power outages imperiled millions of people who faced long stretches without heat. We are prepared once again to make use of the industrial generators we installed two years ago that have provided heat and light to schools, community centers and other communal buildings where people gather.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine who continue to face threats to their safety and well being.
Together we save lives and restore hope.
