Angelina, 10, lives with her mother and grandmother in Zolotonosha. Her father is no longer part of her life, and her stepfather is away defending the country. Sadly, the family was forced to flee their home shortly after the crisis began.
Angelina suffers from several mental/emotional disabilities that are exacerbated by the ongoing hostilities and the sadness caused by her stepfather’s absence. Angelina longs to return to Bakhmut, and to all the things she left behind in her room.
Her mother and grandmother both work as seamstresses, but one of them must be home at all times to supervise Angelina. Until this year, the young girl studied online at the Bakhmut school. But now she will begin studying at a local school where she can interact with teachers and peers. Being a newcomer to the school, it is especially important for Angelina to be ready for the new year, with school supplies and new clothes, to bolster her confidence and raise her spirits.
Her mother and grandmother are very grateful for assistance provided by JRNU to purchase school supplies (including new clothes and shoes) and pay for medical treatment.
