Eight months after entering the classrooms, students throughout Ukraine completed a successful academic year. On September 1, 2022, there was great excitement as children returned to the Or Avner schools, carrying colorful new backpacks full of donated supplies. There was also fear and anxiety as to how kids would react to studying in bomb shelters, and enduring disruptions to power and other utilities.
We could not be more proud of the students and the teachers, who persevered despite the many challenges they faced. We will welcome many of the kids and staff to camp this summer, where we will provide recreational, educational, and spiritual programs and support. We hope and pray that the children will know no more wars, and the next school year will be filled with peace and joy!
