All across Ukraine, Jews are celebrating the joyful holiday of Sukkot. Each day, thousands of people come to the local Sukkahs, like the one in Zaporozhye constructed by Rabbi Nachum Ehrentreu, who remarked: “The sight is genuinely awe-inspiring."
Despite the ongoing crisis, the spirit of the Sukkot holiday inspires and radiates amongst Ukrainian Jews. Newcomers join longtime members of local communities to visit the “Sukkahs of Peace,” where they bless the four species and carry out other important rituals. In addition, each visitor is presented with a festive holiday package to supplement the food parcels and other items provided pursuant to our humanitarian aid efforts.
