Philip Areevich Kandel, 90 years old, heats his home in Nilkolaivka, with wood and coal. His daughter lives in Dnipro, 20 miles away, but comes to visit often to check on her dad. Throughout the winter, JRNU delivers wood and coal, to Mr. Kandel, to a family in Dnipro, and to thousands of others around the country. With temperatures in the 30s during the day and dropping down at night, winter has arrived in Ukraine—staying warm is a matter of life and death.
We are grateful to the rabbis, staff and volunteers who ensure no one is forgotten in our distribution of food and other essential items. Thousands of men, women and children count on us for their daily needs, and with your help we save lives and restore hope.
