With the school year underway, children are assigned homework to reinforce the classroom instruction. Many families are living in temporary quarters, staying with relatives, or otherwise unable to create a suitable environment for kids to complete their work.
As part of our Back to School efforts, we provided families with desks, chairs, lamps and other items to enable kids to study at home. Over the past several years there have been many interruptions to schooling for the children in Ukraine, first COVID and then the ongoing crisis, it is essential they spend time focusing on their academics outside of the classroom.
It has been remarkable to witness children from the first grade all the way through high school embrace the educational and development opportunities offered to them. In addition to the regular curriculum, many students participate in after school enrichment programs and one-on-one tutoring. And at home they are using the new items they received to complete their homework and more!
It is critical that we do all we can to help the next generation of Ukrainians; we are encouraged by their resilience and determination to succeed in their academic studies and beyond. Each day the children and their families find new ways to overcome the challenges and obstacles they face, and we support them in every way we can.
