International Holocaust Remembrance Day 2025

JANUARY 27TH 2025

On January 27, 2025, International Holocaust Remembrance day, we honor the memory of the six million Jews who were killed by the Nazis. This year we mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, where more than 1.1 million Jews died, and we mourn the tragedy of Babyn Yar in Ukraine, where more than 30,000 Jews were killed in just two days (September 1941).

Sadly, the suffering in Ukraine continues, as it does in other parts of the world. For World War II survivors in Ukraine, the war is traumatizing in ways we can only begin to imagine: millions of displaced people, food shortages, power disruptions, and frequent air attacks.

Of the thousands of people we support with critical humanitarian aid, special care is given to the Holocaust survivors, many of whom live alone with limited resources. The hot meals we deliver are a lifeline for them, along with essential winter items including blankets, thermoses, heaters and more. Clothing and personal hygiene items are provided as well.

Working with local leaders, we provide direct support to 35 communities and to people in more than 250 cities and villages around the country. Help is needed today more than ever, to ensure the physical, emotional, and spiritual well being of thousands of people. We are here for the people of Ukraine.

Together we save lives and restore hope.
