We are working hard to bring Passover to the people of Ukraine. For the third year in a row, families are without husbands, fathers, sons and brothers (who are serving in the military), people are residing in temporary quarters (having fled their homes), financial situations are tenuous, and personal safety is an ongoing concern. Sadly, many families have suffered unimaginable tragedies with lives lost and people injured.
In the past, many Ukrainian families used to give generously during this time of year, to ensure all members of the community could celebrate our exodus from Egypt. Today, many of those families find themselves in need, receiving our holiday and food packages along with other types of aid.
As the largest humanitarian aid organization operating inside Ukraine, we have been a lifeline for 50,000 people for more than two years, providing food, medicine, shelter, programs for kids and social services of all types. It has been challenging, particularly after the horrors of October 7th; understandably many funders have turned their attention to Israel and away from Ukraine. Nevertheless, the Jews of Ukraine will celebrate the holiday of our Exodus, with Matzah, grape juice and food of all kinds, imported from Israel and distributed to each community.
It is an honor, a privilege and our duty to help the thousands of people in Ukraine who continue to struggle under difficult circumstances, day after day. Let's hope and pray for peace in Ukraine and around the world, sooner rather than later.
With your help, we save lives and restore hope!
