This morning, the residents of Kyiv and Kharkiv were once again the victims of major attacks. Reports thus far indicate 6 people have died and 73 others were injured; sadly these numbers may increase as search and rescue operations continue. Many homes and other buildings were severely damaged or destroyed, leaving people with virtually no belongings and nowhere to go. We are responding to many requests for assistance.
In Kharkiv, volunteers are assisting first responders, checking buildings and sifting through rubble. We are providing much needed warmth to workers who are spending hours in the frigid cold. Outdoor heaters, donated last year by World of Giving, have proved invaluable, allowing the critical rescue efforts to continue uninterrupted.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Kyiv and Kharkiv. We appreciate the hard work of JRNU leaders, staff and volunteers who can always be counted on during a time of need. With your support we save lives and restore hope.
