For the past 2 ½ years, Chief Rabbi Shmuel Kaminezki and his team have worked tirelessly to support the Dnipro Jewish community. Recently, the staff, volunteers, and their families enjoyed a much-needed respite, to relax and recharge.
A large group of men, women and children were invited to spend several days in a tranquil environment, far from the daily stresses of air raid sirens and bomb shelters. The retreat included delicious food, and a full schedule of activities for children of all ages, allowing parents time to participate in various lessons and activities for adults.
The picturesque setting, complete with river and forest, was therapeutic for the participants, and the workshops and peer connections were highly beneficial.
Several celebrations were held to rejuvenate the families who have endured so much.
The participants expressed immense gratitude to everyone who put together the event; the encouragement and support is particularly timely in advance of the busy season preparing for the new year.
It was an honor to be a part of this important event to restore and refresh the wonderful people who lead and care for the thousands of Jews in Dnipro.
