Sixteen year old Yevhen dreams of becoming a computer programmer, despite suffering from significant hearing loss.
With help from JRNU, Yevhen began studying online, as well as training at the IT STEP Kamenskoye computer academy.
After three semesters, arrangements were made for Yevhen to transfer to an advanced training academy where he has excelled. At the end of the first semester, his parents were to begin monthly tuition payments, but they were unable to do so. Facing threats of expulsion, the local community established a fundraiser to help Yevhen cover tuition for the remaining 3 semesters. Other efforts are underway to secure funding to ensure Yevhen can fulfill his dream and become a computer programmer.
His mother expressed her gratitude to our staff:
“Thank you for helping Yevhen to complete the course of study, to gain a general understanding of his future specialty, and to prepare for further in-depth study of school subjects, such as language. mathematics, English.”
