People in Ukraine Need Help

JULY 31ST 2024

Just over half of the 38 million people in Ukraine are employed. With an average cost of living exceeding $2,200 per month, millions of families cannot afford food and shelter. The 9 million internally displaced people are particularly vulnerable.

For more than 2 1/2 years, we have been providing vital support to Jewish communities throughout Ukraine, as well as thousands of other individuals who come to us for help. We continue to distribute food and essential items on a regular basis, as well as special packages several times a year. The need for support is particularly acute in Chernivtsi, Uzhgorod, and Vinnytsia where we provide food, shelter, and more to hundreds of individuals who were forced to flee their homes.

Unfortunately, Jewish communities in Ukraine have become significantly more dangerous. Weapons are easily accessible to members of the public, and following the attacks in Israel on October 7, the rise in anti-Semitism has created additional risks. It became necessary to retain professional security services to assure the safety of 29 community centers across the country where thousands of people gather on a regular basis.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to the Jews of Ukraine, and we are grateful to generous donors who make our work possible. Your help is needed!

Together, we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
