Rabbi Yonatan Markovich and the Kyiv Jewish community had the honor of welcoming special guests to the Hanukkah candle lighting ceremony. Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine, The Honorable Michael Brodsky, along with the Ambassador Consul of Israel in Ukraine, Mr. Oleg Vishniakov, members of the Ukrainian parliament, and leaders from the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice, received a warm welcome from the Jewish community who participated in the holiday observance.
“Hanukkah unites all Jews around the world, around the light of the candles. This year, we all pray for the safe return of all the kidnapped individuals to their families quickly. We hope that the light of the Hanukkah candles will overcome anti-Semitism and evil in the world, serving as the light that will illuminate the path of the captives, bringing them out of the darkness of cruel captivity,” Ambassador Brodsky stated.
Each person who attended the event received a special JRNU Hanukkah kit, including a personal menorah to bring the light of Hanukkah to every Jewish home and individual across Ukraine.
