(Excerpts from a poem by Zhanna Rudianska, from Bila Tserkva)
In addition to the lack of sufficient food, shelter, and medical care, throughout the country, Ukrainian Jews increasingly fear for their safety. In Mykolayiv last night, the synagogue located in the center of town was defaced - bright red paint was splattered on the outside walls of the building. Our humanitarian aid and security support are needed now more than ever. We are providing food and medical assistance to thousands, including a hearing aid for Zhanna Rudianska, whose work inspires many people. And we continue to install protective glazing on windows in homes and institutions, to prevent the glass from being blown out in an explosion; we are also providing security training in every community. Additionally, we are preparing for the upcoming winter, distributing emergency kits and servicing generators.
Sadly, the situation in Ukraine presents new challenges each and every day. We work with individuals and families to ensure their daily survival as well as create a path for a better future. With your help we save lives and restore hope.
