Tisha B'Av 2024

AUGUST 12TH 2024

This evening begins the holiday of Tisha B’Av, the saddest day on the Jewish calendar, as we mourn the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. We also mourn the many other tragedies that occurred on this date in history, and the ongoing challenges and sorrows facing Jews around the world. It is hard to believe the crisis in Ukraine continues, 2 ½ years after it began, and the terrible situation in Israel remains unresolved.

But even as we mourn, we find joy and comfort in the hope of better days to come. We look forward to the time when we see how the suffering today was a prelude to happiness and good. In the meantime, we continue to do all we can to help and support those who are struggling, providing for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

On the solemn occasion of Tisha B’Av, we pray for the safety and well-being of people in Ukraine and throughout the world. We are grateful to our generous donors who make our work possible, saving lives and restoring hope.

Together we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
