Twenty-five recent graduates from a Jewish studies program in Ukraine were rewarded with a 7 day trip to Italy. The group of young women completed the “STARS Intensive” program that includes eight hours of intensive studies each week.
On their trip, the visitors toured Rome and Southern Italy, and also participated in classes, lectures, prayers, and workshops. The sessions were led by Rabbi Pinchas Vishedski, Chairman of STARS in Ukraine, who together with his wife, Rebbetzin Dina, personally accompanied the group throughout their travels.
“Especially in these times, when back home they can’t enjoy even a day of peace,” Rabbi Vishedski noted, “this special week provided the young women with precious moments of tranquility they so deeply need.”
A highlight of the trip was an uplifting Shabbat celebration in the heart of Rome. Hosted by Rabbis Yitzhak Hazan and Menachem Lazar, the event was a warm and uplifting experience.
The successful trip was made possible through the support and partnership of the STARS World Organization, led by Rabbi Avi Kessel; YAHAD, directed by Rabbi Mendy Wilansky of the Federation of Jewish Communities, and Rabbi Shlomo Peles of JRNU.
We congratulate the young women and the program organizers in a wonderful trip.
Together we save lives and restore hope.
