World Sight Day 2023

OCTOBER 12TH 2023

Today we join with RestoringVision and many others in recognizing World Sight Day, created in the year 2000 to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment, and the profound impact that vision correction can have on people’s lives.

In 2023, RestoringVision donated more than 100,000 pairs of glasses to us for distribution throughout Ukraine. Thanks to the tireless efforts of 55 regional coordinators and hundreds of staff and volunteers, the glasses reached people in major cities, small towns, and remote villages. In Kyiv, and the surrounding region, there were 30,000 grateful recipients, while in Uman there were just 100 people in need. It made no difference, if the numbers were big or small, people in communities all across the country felt the immediate impact of these gifts of sight.

More than a billion people worldwide do not have access to the services they need to see clearly; thanks to RestoringVision we were able to ensure many people in Ukraine are not among them! And through their work in other parts of the world, RestoringVision will reach 4 million people in 2023.

We are grateful to RestoringVision for helping ensure the people of Ukraine have the glasses they need for their daily living. It is especially important to people who have lost so much to know that others care about their well-being and want to help.

Thanks to RestoringVision and to all of our supporters for enabling our work, saving lives and restoring hope.

Together we Save Lives and Restore Hope!
